NEWINGTON FREE CHURCH

ABOUT US

We are an independent evangelical church located in Newington, Ramsgate.  We welcome believers who want to grow in their faith, and non-believers who want to find out more about Christianity.

We meet every Sunday, 10:15-11:45 and 6:30-7:45, to pray, sing, and learn together from the Bible.  Our services combine traditional and contemporary forms of worship.  Communion is open to all Christians, whatever their church background.

On the first Sunday of each month we have an all-age service, which is shorter and more interactive.

We also have weekly prayer meetings, monthly coffee mornings and other social events.

Our church garden, which is part of the Quiet Garden movement, is available for quiet reflection and prayer (see below).

From Babylon to New Jerusalem: The Book of Revelation

Tuesday 9, 16, 23, 30 April (7:30 - 9:00)

The last book in the Bible has both baffled and excited Christians for centuries. How do we make sense of its strange visions of angels, beasts and dragons? Is it a pastoral letter or a prophetic calendar? Or is it even, as some have claimed, a vengeful book, unworthy of its place in Scripture?

Join us to explore this ‘tale of two cities’ – one that is only fit for the rubbish tip, and one in which God is finally at home with his people.

Tuesday 9 April:  Seven letters to the churches (Revelation 1–5)

Tuesday 16 April: Seven seals and seven trumpets (Revelation 6–12)

Tuesday 23 April: Seven bowls and a dragon (Revelation 12–18)

Tuesday 30 April: Seven scenes of victory (Revelation 19-22)

NEWINGTON FREE CHURCH 60TH ANNIVERSARY

On 24 July 2022, we celebrated sixty years since the building was opened.

Members shared memories of the early years of the church and of how God has blessed them here.  We wrote these down and put them, along with other items, in a time capsule, which we then buried under the praying hands in the prayer garden.

And of course we had a gorgeous cake!

Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)

As part of God's worldwide church, we gladly affirm the faith expressed in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed.

As an independent evangelical Baptist church, we also have our own statement of faith, which you can read below.
